Sue Bierman College Internship and High School Fellowship Program

The San Francisco Democratic Party is excited to announce its Summer 2017 Sue Bierman Memorial High School Fellowship and College Intern Program! Both interns and fellows are paid. College students are paid $400 a month and high school students are paid $200 a month. Expected hours are 10-15 hours a week. The due date of the application is Friday, April 14 at 5:00pm. We anticipate a start date of June 15 to August 15.

Requirements-

  • Must be between 15 through 25 years old and interested in politics

  • Must be registered as a Democrat (if eligible to do so)

  • Must be able to devote 3-4 days a week with occasional weekends and evenings 

  • Must be available to work in San Francisco

  • Interested in field outreach activities including voter registration, phone banking, and canvassing

Preferred Skills/Experience- (You don’t need to have all of these, but excelling in one is great)

  • Some volunteer experience, particularly campaign or community organizing related

  • Fluency or conversational abilities in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Filipino is extremely helpful

  • Social media/web formatting

  • Organization/scheduling

  • Previous leadership roles

  • Excel/Google docs proficiency

The fellowship program will run from time of acceptance until the end of summer. This is a fellowship program intended to give a crash-course into local politics.
